Welcome to Courtside

My name is Andy and more often than not I'm to be found courtside watching my son Elijah playing the sport he loves; tennis. It's this weekly pilgrimage, coffee in hand, which led me to create the Courtside Podcast.

Courtside is a series of conversations exploring the journey sport-parents go on as we support our children in the sport they love.

Through Courtside you’ll hear from Players, Parents, Coaches and experts in the fields of sports science and adolescent development in order that as Courtside Parents we can create a positive courtside environment, meaning that our children flourish through the culture we create around the sport that they love.

So, how's your courtside culture?

Gordon MacLelland set up ‘Working with Parents in Sport’ after 20 years as a teacher and coach.

WWPIS provides information and training to sporting bodies, clubs and most importantly parents to help all better understands the difficulties that parents and coaches face in today’s world.

In this episode, alongside hearing why Sausages are the greatest aspect of sport; you'll also hear both a personal perspective of being a sport parent as well as great advice as to how best we can support our young players.

Being a Sports Parent is a lived experience for Gordon as his son trains at the Middlesbrough FC Academy. Which in my opinion is the finest team in football that the world has ever seen

Please do connect with Gordon and the amazing work of Working with Parents in Sport
